WARREN – Macomb Softball dropped to 5-9 in MCCAA Eastern Conference play and 8-16 overall with a pair of home losses to the SC4 Skippers on Saturday (April 12). The game one setback, coming by a 10-4 final score, marked the end of a 15-game winning streak over the Skippers dating back to April 16, 2022. With a 9-5 loss in extra innings in game two, the Monarchs were swept in a doubleheader by the Skippers for the first time since April 21, 2018.
The same two teams will meet Sunday (April 13) to resume their suspended doubleheader from earlier this season. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. at Marysville City Park where the action will pick up with Macomb leading SC4, 9-8, entering the bottom of the sixth inning.
Despite the losses, the Monarchs hit their fair share of home runs on the day as
Alexa Garofalo,
Paige Muehlbrandt and
Aubrey Rich each went deep in the opener while
Madalyn Roberson blasted a pair in game two and Muelhbrandt hit another to record two on the day.
Muehlbrandt also had three doubles on the day as part of a 5-for-7 effort overall.
