NORTHVILLE, Mich. – Macomb Softball returned to action on Monday (April 6) after a lengthy pause due to poor weather last week with a MCCAA East twin bill at Schoolcraft. The Monarchs dropped the opener by a narrow 7-6 margin before trailing 14-8 in the bottom of the sixth in a game suspended by darkness.
GAME ONE: Schoolcraft 7, Macomb 6
Errors and walks plagued the Monarchs in the opener as the Blue & White fell by a narrow 7-6 margin.
Ryleigh Davis returned to the lineup and had a major impact as the leadoff hitter, going 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles and three runs scored.
Aubrey Rich recorded one of her best games in a Macomb uniform with two doubles and four RBIs as part of an impressive 3-for-4 performance.
Ariana Wlodeck,
Addison Wodowski and
Alexa Yaklin all went 1-for-3 with a walk, while Yaklin and
Allison Wineski—who was also 1-for-3—each scored a run.
The duo of Davis and Rich accounted for six of the team's 11 hits in the opener as five other Monarchs accounted for one each.
GAME TWO: Suspended – Bottom 6th (Schoolcraft leads, 14-8)
Game two was suspended for darkness entering the bottom of the sixth inning and will be completed when the Ocelots host the Monarchs for the final doubleheader of their season series on April 18.
