Ed Smith joined the Macomb women's basketball staff in the summer of 2025. The 2025-26 season will be his first as an assistant coach.
Smith joins the Monarchs after a stint at Warren Cousino High School, where he was the head coach of the girls JV team from 2018-2025. He's also had coaching stops at Lamphere High School and Roseville High School as the head coach of the JV boys teams.
Along with his high school coaching experience, Smith has an extensive background in coaching travel ball.
He is a member of BCAM Coaches and was certified as a USA Youth Basketball Coach in 2019.
Coach Smith resides in Clinton Township and is a graduate of Ferris State University.
