Lauren "Doogie" Rishell

Lauren “Doogie” Rishell (formerly Duquette) was named the 10th head coach in Macomb Community College women’s volleyball history prior to the 2019 season. In seven seasons at the helm, Coach Doogie posted an 82-92 overall record, including a 43-41 record in MCCAA Eastern Conference play. The 82 wins ranks fourth all-time and is the most since Kevin Nugent went 144-62 from 2004-07. The 43 conference victories ranks third all-time in program history.

Most recently, Coach Doogie led the Monarchs to a 17-13 overall record and 7-5 finish in MCCAA Eastern Conference action in 2025.

In total, Coach Doogie coached and developed over 30 MCCAA All-Conference selections in seven seasons as the Monarchs head coach. Taking over at a difficult time, a good chunk of Coach Doogie’s early tenure at Macomb was altered in some shape or form by the pandemic (2020-2021).

Coach Doogie was voted 2021 MCCAA Eastern Conference Co-Coach of the Year and led the Monarchs to the postseason in six of seven seasons at the helm.
