Volleyball’s Season Comes to an End, Monarchs Celebrate Sophomore Class

Thank you for everything, Monarchs!

WARREN, Mich. – The 2022 season came to a close for Macomb Volleyball Wednesday (Oct. 26) in a 3-0 loss to the visiting Skippers of St. Clair County Community College. The Monarchs fought valiantly throughout, including two near wins in sets one and three, but the visitors were able to close out each frame in winning fashion (22-25, 13-25, 24-26).

With the loss, the Monarchs finish the 2022 campaign at 5-14 overall and 1-11 in the MCCAA Eastern Conference. The Skippers ended their regular season with a 20-5 overall record and a 10-2 mark in conference action.
Despite not getting the outcome they wanted, the Monarchs still had cause to celebrate as the program honored its three sophomores: Natalie Husson (Marysville, Mich./Marysville), Khloee Stoll (Macomb, Mich./Anchor Bay) and Jordan Turner (Highland Park, Mich./Wilmington Univ.).

Haile Polisano (New Baltimore, Mich./Anchor Bay) was all over the court and posted a double-double with 16 digs and a team-best 11 kills. Stoll, one of the three sophomores honored prior to Wednesday's match, recorded 20 digs and finished third all-time in career digs at Macomb. Stoll also had a pair of aces in her final match as a Monarch.

Husson paced the team in blocks with four and added an ace, while Turner added two blocks to add to her team-leading tally to end the season.

Riley Fisette (Chesterfield, Mich./L'Anse Creuse North) checked in with nine kills and two blocks, Chante Hudgins (Warren, Mich./Lincoln) recorded five kills, Becca Weiss (Dryden, Mich./Dryden) posted 13 assists and Skylar Hunt (Chesterfield, Mich./L'Anse Creuse North) rounded out the top statistical performances in the season finale with nine digs.

Thank you, Monarchs, for all of the memories this season!
