HIGHLIGHTS
WARREN, Mich. – Cold shooting down the stretch by Macomb Women's Basketball allowed the visiting Adrian JV Bulldogs to pull away and win, 73-62, Tuesday (Nov. 8) in Warren. The Monarchs trailed by two after three quarters of play, 54-52, but the Bulldogs made up the difference in the contest with an 11-0 run to start the fourth quarter to earn the 11-point victory.
The loss is the first of the season for the Monarchs (3-1).
Amy Jackson (Flat Rock, Mich./Flat Rock) and
Rylee Thomas (Harrison Twp., Mich./L'Anse Creuse) led the Monarchs with 12 points each. All of Jackson and Thomas' points came via the long line as each Monarch drained four triples on the evening.
Valina Hudgins (Warren, Mich./Lincoln) followed with 10 points and added a team-high six rebounds, while
Kamryn Richards (Grosse Pointe Park, Mich./Grosse Pointe South) chipped in nicely with eight points, a game-high eight assists and three steals.
Tamia Tounsel (Shelby Twp., Mich./Dakota) recorded seven points and five boards in 21 minutes of action Tuesday evening.
The Monarchs have the rest of the week off from game action and return to the court Tuesday (Nov. 15) with a home tilt against Bryant & Stratton (OH). The tip-off is slated for 5:30 p.m. at the Sports & Expo Center on Macomb's South Campus.
