BY THE NUMBERS: 10
Entering the week, the Monarchs are a perfect 10-0 when having less turnovers than the opposition and winless in two games when they have more miscues than the opponent (1-1 when turnovers are tied). On Friday (Dec. 30), ball security will be paramount as the Monarchs face a team who leads the nation in steals at 16.1 thefts per game.

BY THE NUMBERS: 50
The talented guard trio of Linden Holder, Juwan Maxey and Cameron McEvans combined for 50 of the Monarchs' 80 points in an 80-67 win over Kalamazoo Valley on Dec. 17. Holder and McEvans paced the action with 17 points each, while Maxey followed with 16 points. Holder's 17 points marked a new career-high for the former De La Salle standout.

END OF THE NON-CON SLATE
Friday (Dec. 30) marks the end of a challenging non-conference slate when the Monarchs host the defending national champion and current No. 3 South Suburban Bulldogs at 1 p.m. in Warren. Friday's game will be the Monarchs' second game against a NJCAA D2 top-five opponent (also played two NJCAA D1 Top-10 programs earlier this year).

STAT LEADERS
Tamario Adley remains the Monarchs leading scorer at 12.3 points per game and is followed closely in double digits by Juwan Maxey (11.4 PPG) and Aidan Rubio (10.3 PPG). Tymias Williams and Jaylen Daughtery lead a balanced effort on the glass with 5.9 and 5.8 rebounds per game, respectively, while Linden Holder's 4.2 assists per contest leads a Macomb team that averages 21.3 assists per game.

#9 NATIONALLY AT THE BREAK
With no new poll over the holidays, the Monarchs remain at No. 9 in the NJCAA Division II Rankings at the break. The Monarchs, who lead a cast of four MCCAA East teams in the rankings, are 11-3 on the season. The three losses have come to a pair of NJCAA D1 Top-10 teams and the second ranked NJCAA D2 team nationally.

ADLEY, MCEVANS DISH IT OUT
Great ball movement was once again on display in an 80-67 home win over Kalamazoo Valley on Dec. 17. Tamario Adley—who eased back into the lineup for the first time in two weeks—and Cameron McEvans each dished out a career-high seven assists in the win.

REIGNING NATIONAL CHAMPS
It doesn't get much better than this! The ninth-ranked Monarchs will host the reigning NJCAA D2 National Champion South Suburban Bulldogs Friday afternoon at the Sports & Expo Center. The Bulldogs went 33-0 last season en route to the national title and have shot out to a No. 3 ranking behind a 12-1 record thus far in 2022-23.

A LOOK AT: #3 SOUTH SUBURBAN
Balance has led the No. 3 Bulldogs to a 12-1 record this season. Offensively, the Bulldogs average 92.1 points per game on 52% shooting and 22.1 assists per contest. Defensively, the Bulldogs hold opponents to 36.1% shooting and 59.8 points per game while averaging 16.1 steals and 8.2 blocks per game. Nakyel Shelton (22.9 PPG), Damontae Taylor (17.7 PPG) and Jalen Houston (13.5 PPG) lead the way for the Bulldogs.
