BY THE NUMBERS: 25
The Monarchs cruised to a 62-25 victory over North Central Michigan Saturday (Dec. 3) to win their fifth straight and improve to 8-1 on the season. The 25 points scored by the visitors tied for the fifth fewest points allowed in program history and marked the third time this season the Monarchs have held the opposition to 33 points or less.

BY THE NUMBERS: 70
With three more defensive-minded wins last week, the Monarchs improved to 8-1 overall and a perfect 8-0 when holding the opposition under 70 points (only loss was when Adrian JV tallied 73 in a 73-62 setback). The Monarchs defense has held the opposition under 50 points four times (4-0) and under the 60-point threshold on six occasions (6-0).

MONARCH REWIND
What a week for the Monarchs! The Blue & White went a perfect 3-0 last week in impressive fashion, winning Tuesday (Nov. 29) at Madonna JV, 86-42, before picking up back-to-back home wins Friday and Saturday. On Friday, the Monarchs defeated Cuyahoga, 76-53, and followed that victory with a 62-25 triumph over North Central Michigan Saturday afternoon.

STAT LEADERS
Returning All-Conference selection Amy Jackson paces the Monarchs offensively with 12.7 points per game through nine games this season. Jackson also leads the way defensively with 3.0 steals per game, while Tamia Tounsel controls the glass with 8.3 rebounds per game. Kamryn Richards has dished out a team-high 4.5 assists per contest through eight games played.

THE BATTLE ON THE BOARDS
The Monarchs have been impressive throughout the season on the glass, outrebounding the competition in six of their nine games played. The Monarchs are 6-0 when outrebounding the opposition and 1-0 when rebounds are tied. Conversely, the Monarchs are an even 1-1 when being outrebounded by the competition.

AROUND THE MCCAA EAST
Another year, another balanced and deep MCCAA Eastern Conference.  No. 8 Schoolcraft is the lone undefeated team in the league at 5-0, while Macomb leads three one-loss teams at 8-1 overall. MCCAA East play begins at home January 14 against Schoolcraft.

A LOOK AT: KELLOGG
The Bruins of Kellogg Community College enter the week with a 3-4 record overall and are coming off a 49-44 victory over Alpena Community College Saturday (Dec. 3) at the SC4 Tournament. The Bruins are 1-1 at home and haven't played in front of their home fans since Nov. 12. As a team, Kellogg enters the week averaging 47.7 points per game on 34.2% shooting.

AGAINST THE MCCAA WEST
The Monarchs will be aiming to push their record against MCCAA Western Conference opponents to 4-0 when they visit Kellogg Wednesday evening. The Blue & White enter the week 3-0 against teams out of the MCCAA West, winning 75-66 over Southwest Michigan on Nov. 4, 59-56 against Lake Michigan on Nov. 5 and most recently a 53-31 victory over Glen Oaks at home on Nov. 22.

MCCAA EAST COACHES POLL
Following a vote by the league's head coaches, Macomb Women's Basketball was selected fifth in the MCCAA Eastern Conference Preseason Poll. The poll was released Nov. 25 by the league office. Of note, the Monarchs received one first place vote. The Monarchs will be seeking the program's seventh league title this season.
