BY THE NUMBERS: 70
Macomb Women's Basketball has shot out to a 3-0 record after sweeping their season-opening three game homestand. The Monarchs earned the 3-0 record behind a balanced offensive attack that saw the team tally 70 or more points in all three contests. Last season, the Monarchs topped the 70 point mark seven times.

BY THE NUMBERS: 17
The duo of Marissa Thomas and Tamia Tounsel continues to impress in the early stages of the season. Through three games, both Monarchs are averaging north of 17 points per game with Tounsel leading all players at 18.3 points and 10.7 rebounds per contest. Thomas is averaging 17.7 points, 7.7 rebounds and 6.3 assists per game.

RICHARDS NETS GAME-WINNER
The Monarchs went 2-0 at home last week thanks in part to the last second heroics of sophomore guard Kamryn Richards! Trailing 72-70 and down to the final seconds, freshman guard Carissa Hankins inbounded the ball to Richards who stepped back behind the long line to drain the game-winning three to top Delta, 73-72!

REESE'S STRONG PLAY
While Marissa Thomas and Tamia Tounsel pace the action offensively, the Monarchs have earned the 3-0 start behind a balanced effort across the roster, including the strong play of freshman wing Enddiea Reese. Through three games, Reese joins Thomas and Tounsel averaging double-digits scoring at 12.0 points per game and hauls in 6.7 rebounds per contest, a number also good for third on the team.

A LOOK AT: OWENS
The Owens CC Express, a Region 12 opponent from the NJCAA Division III ranks, check in at No. 3 nationally in the DIII poll. Through six games, the Express are 2-4 but have played a challenging schedule against NJCAA DI and DII competition. Cierra Harris (16.0 PPG) and Camryn Ivy (15.0 PPG) account for nearly half of the Express offense.

SERIES HISTORY VS OWENS
Dating back to the 2012-13 season, the Monarchs hold a narrow 4-3 edge in seven meetings with the Express and have split the games (2-2) played at Owens. The Monarchs and Express met last (twice) in 2019-20 where the Blue & White won both: 118-49 and 111-61.

ROAD NON-CONFERENCE RECORD
With a lengthy road trip ahead, let's take a look back at how the Monarchs have fared away from home in non-conference action (hint: it's good...very good). The Monarchs have won 20 straight road non-conference games entering this week's action. The program's last road loss in non-conference play? Nov. 11, 2017 at Lakeland CC. Incredible!

SIX STRAIGHT ROAD GAMES
With the season-opening homestand complete, the Monarchs now play six straight road games beginning with a challenging tilt on Tuesday at Owens. The lengthy road swing also includes an added stop at Lansing on Dec. 2 before continuing on at reigning District A Champion, No. 15 Mid Michigan, on Dec. 8 and North Central Michigan on Dec. 9. The road swing closes out at Glen Oaks (Dec. 15) and KVCC (Dec. 16).

AROUND THE MCCAA EAST
Through three weeks of action, Macomb is the lone unbeaten team in non-conference play at 3-0, while Jackson (5-1), SC4 (3-1) and Schoolcraft (2-1) all follow closely with one loss each. Wayne County checks in at 3-2, while the trio of OCC (2-3), Mott (1-2) and Henry Ford (1-5) rounds out this week's look around the MCCAA East.
