BY THE NUMBERS: 50
The Monarchs got last week started with an impressive 76-47 victory over Wayne County. The 47 points was a season-low for the Wildcats and was the sixth time this season the Monarchs have held the opposition to 50 or fewer points. Through 22 games, the Monarchs are holding opponents to 61 points per game, tied for the best scoring defense nationally.

BY THE NUMBERS: 22
The Monarchs improved to 17-5 overall and 5-2 in conference play with a 69-56 road victory at Jackson Saturday (Feb. 4). Tamario Adley led the Monarchs with a career-high 22 points on 9-of-13 shooting and added four rebounds and a pair of steals. Adley's 22-point performance eclipsed his previous career best of 19 points (set twice).

WHAT'S AHEAD
The second half of MCCAA East play begins this week when the Monarchs visit Schoolcraft Wednesday (Feb. 8) for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off. The week will wrap up in Dearborn Saturday (Feb. 11) with a 3 p.m. contest at No. 3 Henry Ford. The Monarchs return home next week with a pair of games in Warren (Feb. 15 vs. Mott and Feb. 18 vs. SC4).

STAT LEADERS
Tamario Adley and Aidan Rubio pace a balanced Monarchs offense with 13.2 and 11 points per game, respectively, while the duo of Juwan Maxey and Tymias Williams follow with an average just north of nine points per contest. Jaylen Daughtery corrals a team-best six rebounds and is followed by Williams with 5.5 boards per game, while Linden Holder dishes out four of the Monarchs' 20 assists per outing.

UP TO SIXTH NATIONALLY
The Monarchs shifted up three spots to No. 6 nationally after going 2-0 last week with a pair of impressive wins. In the gauntlet that is the MCCAA East, the Monarchs check in as one of four ranked teams with Henry Ford at No. 3, SC4 at No. 15 and Mott at No. 18. The Monarchs play the three ranked teams back-to-back-to-back beginning Saturday.

TAKING CARE OF THE BALL
It's no secret that taking care of the ball leads to plenty of success on the hardwood. This season, the Monarchs are a perfect 15-0 when committing less turnovers than their opponent and are a combined 2-5 when either tying or having more turnovers than the opposition.

A LOOK AT: SCHOOLCRAFT
The Ocelots of Schoolcraft College enter the week with a 2-16 overall record and a 0-7 mark midway through MCCAA East play. In the first meeting of the season, the Monarchs dealt the Ocelots their worst loss of the season, a 107-50 decision in Warren on Jan. 14. As a team, the Ocelots average 69.5 points per game on 44.2% shooting.

A LOOK AT: #3 HENRY FORD
The sixth-ranked Monarchs and third-ranked Hawks will meet in a top-six showdown for the second time this season Saturday at 3 p.m. in Dearborn. The Hawks won the first meeting, 83-77, when they were ranked fifth and the Monarchs were ranked sixth. In all, the Hawks have won 12 straight to push their record to 16-4 overall (7-0 in the MCCAA East) and have two players hovering around 20 points per game.

HUNGER GAMES & SOPHOMORE DAY
Believe it or not, the 2022-23 regular season is nearing an end and only three home games remain on the schedule. On Feb. 18, Macomb will host its MCCAA Hunger Games doubleheader where all fans will get in FREE with a non-perishable food item donation. Sophomore Day will follow in the home finale on Feb. 28 (pre-game ceremony).
