JASPER, Ga. – Macomb Baseball dropped the first two of a four-game set at NJCAA Division I No. 10 Georgia Highlands College Friday (March 10) in Jasper, Ga. The losses drop the Monarchs to 1-5 on the season with four of the five setbacks coming to NJCAA D1 programs, two coming to one of the best program's junior college baseball has to offer in the 10
th ranked Chargers.
In game one,
Alex Mendes (Wilmette, Ill./New Trier) hit his first home run at the collegiate level, a 375-foot shot over the left field wall. Game two was highlighted by a 3-for-3 performance at the plate by recent Indiana Tech commit,
Logan Rybarczyk (Chesterfield, Mich./Anchor Bay). Rybarczyk also drove in the Monarchs lone run of game two on a fifth inning single to left field that brought
Andrew Sleiman (Leamington, Ontario/Cardinal Carter) around to score.
The Monarchs will wrap up their eight-game spring trip tomorrow (March 11) with a doubleheader against the 10
th ranked Charger beginning at 11 a.m.
