ALMA, Mich. – Macomb Baseball went on the road to take on the Alma College Reserves Tuesday (April 11) in non-conference action. An early 6-0 Macomb lead wouldn't last as the Scots came back to take game one, 10-9, before earning a 16-6 game two win over a shorthanded Monarchs team.
Jack Blomme (Oxford, Mich./Oxford) paced the Monarchs at the plate across Tuesday's twin bill with a leadoff home run in game to go along with a double and a triple later in the day. The three extra-base hits lifted Blomme to a team-high four RBIs Tuesday and the home run was the third of the season for the freshman outfielder (tied for the team high).
Joey Tedesco (Grosse Pointe Woods, Mich./Grosse Pointe North/Hillsdale) followed Blomme with three RBIs, all coming on a bases-clearing triple in game one as part of a 1-for-3 effort at the plate.
Jeremy Pudlik (Waterford, Mich./Waterford Mott) went 2-for-4 across two games and drove in two runs.
Logan Rybarczyk (Chesterfield, Mich./Anchor Bay) had three hits, while
Dallas Gordon (Clinton Twp., Mich./Chippewa Valley) and
Tyler Hall (Clinton Twp., Mich./Chippewa Valley) each recorded their first hit at the collegiate level.
Ben Dillabough (Warren, Mich./Warren Mott) rounded out the leaders at the plate with a 2-for-5 afternoon that included a triple off the center field wall.
The Monarchs visit The Corner Ballpark in Detroit for a conference doubleheader against the Ocelots of Schoolcraft College Thursday (April 13). First pitch is 2 p.m.
