WATERFORD TWP, Mich. – Macomb Baseball put two runners on base in each of the first three innings but couldn't get runs across as the visiting SC4 Skippers won in five innings, 10-0. The loss sends the inury-riddled Monarchs to 4-14 overall and 0-5 in the MCCAA Eastern Conference. The Skippers improve to 7-9 overall and 2-3 in league play.
The Skippers scored one in the first, three in the second and later opened up the game with a five-run fourth inning to earn the win.
Adam Amodei (Mt. Clemens, Mich./Chippewa Valley) led the Monarchs with a 2-for-2 effort at the plate, while
Jack Blomme (Oxford, Mich./Oxford),
Tom Burt (Village of Clinton, Mich./Clinton),
Ben Dillabough (Warren, Mich./Warren Mott) and
Logan Rybarczyk (Chesterfield, Mich./Anchor Bay) all recorded a hit to account for the Monarchs offense Sunday afternoon.
The Monarchs head to Ann Arbor to take on the Concordia Cardinals Reserves Tuesday (April 4) for a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m.
