BY THE NUMBERS: 21
Wear it! Sophomore infielder and Indiana Tech commit,
Jeremy Pudlik, has been a magnet for baseball's throughout his two-year tenure at Macomb. With four games remaining in his Macomb career, Pudlik is tied for the career hit-by-pitch record after being plunked
21 times in his career.
Josh Medrano is one behind at 20 HBPs in his career.
BY THE NUMBERS: 22
Congrats to this year's team on hitting
22 home runs (and potentially counting) this season! The
22 home runs is the most in a single season since at least 2013 when the NJCAA began recording the association's stats online.
Tom Burt paces the Monarchs with four home runs, while four other players have went deep three times this season.
THANK YOU, MONARCHS!
A slew of season-ending injuries may have spoiled a promising campaign record-wise, but the Monarchs battled regardless of the circumstance. From thrilling wins to players receiving great interest from four-year schools (including eight currently committed to play at the next level), there are many bright spots to pull from this season. Thank you, Monarchs, for the memories!
FIRST FULL RECRUITING CLASS
Hired in the late summer months last year when nearly all 2022 players had already committed elsewhere, new head coach
Taylor Grzelakowski didn't have the opportunity to recruit in full force for this season. As for the 2023 class, Grzelakowski & staff have made waves on the recruiting trail and have amassed a deep and talented class that features four PBR Michigan Top-100 players.
A LOOK BACK AT THE TERRA WIN
Last week, the Monarchs picked up another win after splitting with the visiting Terra State Titans. After dropping game one, the Monarchs bounced back to take the nightcap, 5-3, behind a three-run blast by
Kyle Ciner and stellar pitching across the board.
Jake Verellen came on in a tough spot and struck out three in one inning to earn his first collegiate win, and
Brendan Bos closed the door for his fourth save of the season.
SLAM DEALS AGAIN
Another impressive outing for sophomore pitcher,
Ryan VanSlambrouck! After going six strong in a win over Mott, VanSlambrouck took the mound against Henry Ford last week and put the team in position to win after punching out eight over seven-plus innings of work.

A FOUR-GAME SET VS SC4
Led by fifth-year head coach Ryan Kottke, the St. Clair County Community College (SC4) Skippers enter the final week of play at 11-19 overall and 6-13 in the MCCAA East. The Skippers and Monarchs will play a four-game set with two games at Macomb Thursday and two in Port Huron Saturday. The Skippers won the first meeting of the season, their fifth victory in the series since 2013.
COMMITMENT TRACKER
The recruitment of current Monarchs has continued at an impressive clip under the direction of first-year head coach
Taylor Grzelakowski. Eight current Monarchs have already committed to a four-year school (4 NCAA D2, 4 NAIA) following the commitment of
Ben Dillabough to Cornerstone University. Many more still to come!
