PLYMOUTH, Ind. – Macomb Women's Basketball couldn't overcome a tough shooting day as Lincoln Trail College pulled away in the second half to top the Monarchs, 69-50. The difference in the contest was the third quarter as Lincoln Trail outscored the Monarchs by a 24-9 margin in the frame. The Monarchs trailed by five at the half, 33-28, prior to Lincoln Trail's big third quarter.
Asiyah Jihad (Farmington, Mich./North Farmington) paced the Monarchs with 19 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the field and a 9-of-10 mark from the charity stripe. Jihad hauled in seven rebounds for the second time in as many games to end the weekend averaging 16 points and seven rebounds – both team highs through two contests.
Sydney Garon (Shelby Twp., Mich./Henry Ford II) was next with seven points and four rebounds, while
Vivian Urhobara (Lagos, Nigeria/Divine Light School) added six points and five rebounds.
After playing in Marian University Ancilla's Charger Classic, the Monarchs will head home to host the Chargers on Wednesday (Nov. 6) for the team's 2024-25 home opener. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 p.m. with live stream coverage also available on
