BY THE NUMBERS: 11
The Monarchs erupted for 11 home runs in eight games down south, led by four off the bat of sophomore transfer and future Central Michigan Chippewa, Brady Krzciok. Dylan Pawenski followed with two home runs of his own, while Luke Babcock, Luke Grigg, Dane Richards, Reese Rinna and Derek Ruiz joined in on the fun with one long ball each.

BY THE NUMBERS: 21
How about the 1-2 punch of Oliver Barkal and Hector Jaimes in the Brewton-Parker sweep?! Jaimes got the nod in the opener and went the distance striking out 10, but didn't get the run support in a narrow 1-0 setback. Barkal followed with 11 punch outs as part of a one-hit complete game shutout in the nightcap  as the pair combined for 21 strikeouts.

LEAGUE PLAY BEGINS!
The Monarchs get MCCAA Eastern Conference play underway in the week ahead with their home opener against Jackson on Tuesday at 2 p.m.  A visit to the Corner Ballpark vs. Schoolcraft follows on Thursday at 2 p.m., while Mott visits Warren on Saturday for a 1 p.m. first pitch. All three games will be single 9-inning contests. All teams will meet for a four-game set later this season.

BIG BATS LEAD THE WAY
While Brady Krzciok stole the show with his big performance in the spring finale, the Monarchs were strong offensively throughout and return north with 10 batters over .300. Riley Ames leads the team (min. 10 AB) with a .583 average while Krzciok's 1.083 SLG% and four home runs paces the power department. Krzciok and Dylan Pawenski have driven in nine runs each and have combined for six home runs and six doubles.

A FEW PITCHING LEADERS
Oliver Barkal's 0.00 ERA, 0.33 WHIP  and .050 batting average against with 11 strikeouts leads a deep pitching staff and Hector Jaimes follows with 10 strikeouts and a 1.80 ERA. Owen Lamky made the most of his inning pitched down south by striking out the side, while Dominic Miller recorded a 2.70 ERA and struck out five in 3 1/3 innings of work.

PICKING UP WHERE HE LEFT OFF
Sophomore OF/DH Reese Rinna picked up where he left off last season with a solid spring trip that included a .476 BA, 1.256 OPS, .714 SLG% and .542 OBP through six games played. Through 21 at-bats, Rinna has driven in eight runs on 10 hits while connecting on a home run and two doubles. The sophomore has come around to score seven times.

A LOOK AT: JACKSON
The reigning MCCAA Eastern Conference Champion Jets of Jackson College open the defense of their title in Warren on Tuesday with a single 9-inning contest against the Monarchs. The Jets are 8-10 at the time of this release and are anchored by a strong pitching staff that is led by LHP Nathan Tappenden (0.95 ERA in 19.0 IP) and RHP Ethan Ianni (1.37 ERA in 19.2 IP).

A LOOK AT: SCHOOLCRAFT
The Schoolcraft College Ocelots check in at 10-9 at the time of this release after most recently suffering a pair of tough setbacks to Mid Michigan College out of the MCCAA Northern Conference. Returner Bryan Tuttle paces a balanced Ocelot offensive attack with a .373 average after collecting 19 hits in 51 at-bats and driving in 12 runs. Five other Ocelots check in with a .300 or better average while John Sowards leads the pitching staff with 12 strikeouts.

A LOOK AT: MOTT
The Mott Community College Bears check in with a 6-6 record at the time of this release and are paced offensively by four players with 11 or more RBI: Gavin Balius (13), Conner Egert (12), Charles Chmielewski (11) and Quinn Schultz (11). William Case leads the Bears' starting pitchers with two wins through three starts this season.

NO LIVE STREAMS THIS WEEK
Due to being shorthanded with personnel at the Men's Basketball National Championship, we will not be streaming the first two conference home games when Jackson visits on Tuesday and Mott comes to Warren on Saturday. Come out to Warren to cheer the team on live as league play begins against two top opponents from the MCCAA East!
