Softball Posts 16-Run Inning, Run Rules SC4 With 21-8 Win; Game Two Postponed

The Monarchs erupted for 16 runs in the sixth inning to earn a 21-8 run rule victory at SC4!

MARYSVILLE, Mich. – The bats stayed hot on Saturday (March 30) and carried over from yesterday's game two effort as Macomb Softball used a 16-run sixth inning to earn a 21-8 run rule victory over the host Skippers of St. Clair County Community College. Over their past two games, the Monarchs have now posted 33 runs on 35 hits and have tallied eight home runs in a pair of high-octane victories.

Saturday's run rule win propels the Monarchs to 6-1 in the MCCAA East, a record that leads the conference by a half game at the time of this release. The Monarchs are 10-7 overall.

In all, the 21-run outburst was a product of 23 hits, four of which cleared the fence as Ally Prasnjak (St. Clair Shores, Mich./Lakeview) hit her third of the season and third in the past two days to lead the red-hot bats. Prasnjak's long ball was a no-doubter that easily flew over the center field "blue monster" at Marysville City Park. Brynn Beyer (Chesterfield, Mich./L'Anse Creuse North) hit her second of the season on a big fly that hit the top of the Skippers' scoreboard. Beyer and Prasnjak also hit a double each as Prasnjak went 3-for-5 with a game-high five RBIs and Beyer went 2-for-4 with four RBIs.

Carleigh Bilpo (Sterling Heights, Mich./Henry Ford II) and Katelyn Thomas (Macomb, Mich./Dakota) each hit their first home run of the season in the impressive offensive outing. Bilpo was 3-for-4 with a pair of RBIs and runs scored and Thomas checked in at 3-for-5 with three runs scored.

Zoe Hunt (Warren, Mich./Regina) posted a team-best four hits on a perfect 4-for-4 effort and added a double, two RBIs and four runs scored, while Grace Dzikowski (St. Clair Shores, Mich./Lakeview) recorded a stellar all-around performance by striking out six and getting her fifth win of the season in the circle while also going 2-for-3 at the plate with two RBIs and two runs scored.

Savanna Clark (St. Clair, Mich./St. Clair) continued her strong sophomore campaign with a 3-for-5 effort that included two runs driven in and a pair of runs scored, while Sydney Urban (Warren, Mich./Regina) went 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored and Haley Mitchell (Memphis, Mich./Memphis) got in on the offensive fireworks by driving in a run.

The Monarchs are scheduled to return to action Tuesday (April 2) at home against Henry Ford in a rescheduled conference doubleheader from March 23. First pitch is set for 3 p.m. with Tom Cavanaugh on the call on MacombMonarchs.com/Watch.
