SWAINSBORO, Ga. – Brady Krzciok erupted for two home runs and a double to drive in five runs and the Macomb offense put up 11 runs, but the NJCAA Division I Bobcats of East Georgia State answered with late runs of their own to win, 14-11, on Friday (March 8). The loss sent the Monarchs to .500 (4-4) on the young season at the close of their 2024 Spring Trip.
With two more home runs Friday, Krzciok (Clarkston, Mich./Clarkston/Madonna) now has four deep shots on the season through eight games played and is slugging 1.083 while hitting .458 (11-24).
Derek Ruiz (Port Huron, Mich./Port Huron Northern/Madonna) tied Krzciok for the team lead in hits with three, going 3-for-4 with a run driven in and a run scored and
Ty Stepek (Commerce Twp., Mich./ Walled Lake Northern/GVSU) had two hits and came around to score twice.
Riley Ames (Sylvania, Ohio/Northview) continued his strong start with a double and a RBI on a 2-for-2 performance to round out the offensive leaders,
Dominic Miller (Macomb, Mich./Dakota) went two innings on the mound and struck out three while only giving up two hits against a potent Bobcat offense.
With the spring trip behind them, the Monarchs travel back to Michigan and are slated to hit the diamond next on March 14 at Albion JV.
