UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. – Macomb Volleyball hit the road Wednesday (Sept. 4) for a non-conference contest against the Pioneers of Delta College. The Pioneers, a team receiving votes nationally in the latest NJCAA Division III Rankings, played in front of their home crowd for the first time this season and used the momentum to defeat the Monarchs in three sets (25-13, 25-16, 25-20).
Adeline Tresnak (Dryden, Mich./Dryden) posted a team-best 10 kills and tied
Alexis Cunha (Richmond, Mich./Anchor Bay) for the team lead in digs with seven.
Paige Elliott (Livonia, Mich./Detroit Country Day) led the Monarchs in assists with 12 and added six digs.
At 1-7 on the season, the Monarchs now turn their attention to this weekend's Macomb Volleyball Invitational. The Monarchs will play four matches at their home invite with the first match at 10 a.m. Saturday morning acting as the 2024 home opener when the Blue & White take on Lawrence Tech JV. The Monarchs will play twice more on Saturday, 2 p.m. against Southwestern Michigan and 6 p.m. opposite Kalamazoo Valley.
The Monarchs will play their lone Sunday match at 10 a.m. against North Central Michigan. In all, 15 matches will be played inside the Sports & Expo Center over the course of Saturday and Sunday.
