WARREN, Mich. – The Macomb Volleyball Invitational ended with a three-set setback for the Monarchs as the North Central Michigan College Timberwolves earned the victory behind set scores of 25-20, 25-20 and 25-22.
The loss sends the Monarchs to 2-10 on the season with conference play fast approaching. While the invitational is over, the homestand continues on Wednesday (Sept. 11) with a non-conference tilt against Madonna JV at 7 p.m. The Monarchs will remain home for MCCAA Eastern Conference matches on Sept. 16 against Mott Community College and Sept. 18 opposite Schoolcraft College. Both conference matches are scheduled for a 7 p.m. first serve.
Grace Amoe (Harrison Twp., Mich./L'Anse Creuse) and
Kara Beeker (Warren, Mich./Warren Woods Tower) led the Monarchs with eight kills each while
Adeline Tresnak (Dryden, Mich./Dryden) checked in with five ills of her own. Amoe, Tresnak and
Kaley Eller (Utica, Mich./Utica) added a pair of block assists each to complete a solid morning at the net.
Paige Elliott (Livonia, Mich./Detroit Country Day) had 28 assists and
Alexis Cunha (Richmond, Mich./Anchor Bay) recorded 25 digs to round out the leaders in Sunday's match.
