WARREN, Mich. – The Macomb Women's Basketball team is hitting the road once again this week as they are set to take on Region XII foe Edison State Community College on Wednesday (Nov. 12). Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m. in Piqua, Ohio.
SCOUTING EDISON STATE: The Chargers began the season 2-0 with decisive victories over Kellogg Community College and the Cedarville University JV team. They most recently suffered a 95-74 defeat at Wayne County Community College last Saturday (Nov. 8) in Detroit.
Presley Reese is a player to watch for the Chargers as the freshman averages 15 points and 6.3 rebounds per game in the early stages of the 2025-26 season. Another player to watch is Rylie Homan, a sophomore who averages 13.0 points, 5.7 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game.
A LOOK AT MACOMB: The Monarchs are looking to get back in the win column after their 68-60 setback to Delta College on Friday (Nov. 7). Against the Pioneers,
Asiyah Jihad posted 24 points and 13 rebounds for the 12th double-double of her Macomb career.
A'Liyah Forris tallied 12 points and six rebounds, while
Janiya McWilliams registered six points and seven rebounds in the loss.
The Monarchs battled through a tough shooting night but were unable to withstand a big run by Delta to close the game out.
Through two games this season, Jihad is averaging a double-double with 18 points and 11.5 rebounds per contest. The sophomore forward is joined in double figures scoring by Forris and
MyKenzi Harris who average 15.5 and 10.5 points per game, respectively.
LAST MEETING: Macomb won last year's meeting in Warren, 76-57, behind a 27-point, 13-rebound double-double by Jihad and a career-high 18 points out of
Vanessa Galovich on 6-of-7 shooting.
