CLINTON TWP., Mich. – After playing the first 12 matches of the season on the road, Macomb Volleyball welcomed in Schoolcraft College for its long-awaited home opener on Wednesday (Sept. 24). The match, played at Chippewa Valley High School due to year-long renovations at Macomb's Sports & Expo Center, went in favor of the visiting Ocelots in four sets (25-13, 25-23, 25-23, and 25-16). 

With the setback, the Monarchs shift to 7-6 overall and 1-2 in conference play, while Ocelots improve to 7-2 overall and 3-0 in Eastern Conference action. 

Jordan Pflaum led the Monarch offense with 13 kills, while Kara Beeker and Kaley Eller added seven each. Korin Hutton posted 33 assists on the evening to continue her strong freshman campaign. 

Defensively, Alexis Cunha registered 14 digs to lead the Monarchs. Brooke Baker recorded 10 digs of her own to round out Wednesday's leaders. 

The Monarchs will continue their three-match homestand on Monday (Sept. 29) against Jackson College. First serve is set for 7:00 p.m. at Chippewa Valley High School.
