LIVONIA, Mich. – Macomb Men's Basketball dropped to 7-9 overall and 0-1 in the MCCAA Eastern Conference after falling to No. 17 Schoolcraft on the road, 76-64, on Saturday (Jan. 10).
The host Ocelots improved to 14-1 overall and 1-0 in the MCCAA East with the victory.
After spotting the Ocelots the first nine points of the game, the Monarchs bounced back to take a 30-27 lead late in the first half. The lead didn't last for long as the Ocelots ended the opening frame on a 15-2 run to take a 42-32 lead into the halftime break.
The Monarchs cut the Ocelot lead in the second half but the hosts responded with a 14-0 burst to put the game out of reach.
Joey Angok and
Malachi Irving paced the Monarchs with 12 points each. The 12 points for Angok marked a career-high while Irving led the Monarchs on the glass with eight rebounds.
