KENOSHA, Wis. – The No. 8 Macomb men's cross country team completed their final out-of-state trip of the regular season on Saturday (Oct. 10) in Kenosha, Wis., at the Lucian Rosa Invitational. The University of Wisconsin-Parkside hosted the event with the field consisting of mostly NCAA Division II, Division III, and NAIA schools. The event was held at the famed Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course—last year's NCAA DII National Championship course and multiple-time host of the NCAA DIII National Championship.
The national championship level course features rolling hills, a challenging environment for runners across all divisions.
The Monarchs earned a top-10 team finish in a strong field, checking in sixth of 13 teams overall with 161 points despite missing top freshman John Blaskowski due to injury. The Monarchs were the top NJCAA team in the field and finished ahead of several NCAA DII programs.
Jacob Kosdilo led Macomb individually in 10th place, running 27:04.9 as the sophomore continues to ascend as the season progresses. Michael Nivala Jr. crossed the line in 29th place with a time of 27:41.2, while Dylan Penberthy was 38th after checking in with a time of 27:59.3.
Mario Carducci placed 47th at 28:17.0 and Henry Terrien wrapped up the scoring in 85th place, running 29:26.7.
Daryl Winters III 29:54.9 to finish 98th, Chris Sayers crossed the line in 125th place with a time of 31:33.1, and Seamus Murphy was right behind Sayers with a time of 31:34.3.
