COCOA, Fla. – Macomb Softball wrapped up their time at the Space Coast Games in Cocoa, Fla., with a split on Friday (March 13). The Monarchs rolled to a 14-7 game one win over Dakota County Technical College (Minn.) behind a 15-hit performance that included two home runs. Game two went in favor of Monroe University (N.Y.) by a 14-4 final in five innings.
With the split, the Monarchs concluded the 2026 spring trip with a 4-6 record.
GAME ONE: Macomb 14, Dakota County Tech 7
Ryleigh Davis had a breakout game for the Monarchs as the freshman hit a grand slam and a two-run double as part of a 3-for-4 opener with six RBIs, three runs scored and a walk. Davis' big day highlighted a 15-hit outburst by the Monarchs, while
Kailey Viviano hit her first home run of the season as part of a 2-for-3 effort with two RBIs, two runs scored and a pair of walks.
The home run was the 14
th of Viviano's career, tying the sophomore for fifth all-time in program history with Katie Nelson (2007-09).
Riley McLaughlin drove in three runs on a 2-for-4 performance while
Jacqueline Asmar and
Aubrey Rich joined the multi-hit parade with two hits each.
Madalyn Roberson pitched the first two innings and only surrendered one hit before giving way to
Mackenzie Sawicki who earned the win behind five innings of work and six strikeouts.
GAME TWO: Monroe 14, Macomb 4 (F/5 inn.)
The Monarchs faced the Mustangs—a team and athletic program accepted to the NCAA Division II level—for the second time in as many days and dropped the battle by a 14-4 margin in five frames.
Zoe Hunt paced the Monarch bats in game two with a pair of hits, while
Addison Wodowski brought home a pair of runs on a first inning double.
