WARREN, Mich. – Twice as nice! Macomb Softball posted identical 11-3 wins in five inning run-rule fashion over Schoolcraft College on Friday (March 20) to move to 6-6 overall and 2-0 in MCCAA East play.
The Monarchs tallied 22 runs on 25 hits in the doubleheader sweep and sent the Ocelots to 3-8 overall and 0-2 in conference action.
GAME ONE: Macomb 11, Schoolcraft 3 (F/5)
The Monarchs led 4-0 after three and later plated five in the fourth before walking it off with an
Addison Wodowski 2-RBI single back up the middle in the fifth inning for an 11-3 victory.
Four Monarchs posted two-hit games as Wodowski,
Samantha Consiglio,
Alexa Garofalo and
Alexa Yaklin all tallied a pair of knocks and drove in a collective six runs in the run-rule triumph.

Jim Beard signaled to the dugout for a pinch hitter and
Gabby Gajewski delivered with a bases-clearing double to extend the Monarchs lead. Gajewski hit one of three doubles for the Monarchs in the opener and was joined by Consiglio and Garofalo in the category.
With the offense rolling,
Ariana Wlodeck posted an efficient five-inning effort to move to 3-0 on the young season. Wlodeck scattered six hits across five innings of work and allowed three earned runs.
GAME TWO: Macomb 11, Schoolcraft 3 (F/5)
Different game, same result as the Monarchs posted their second 11-3 win in five innings of the day in game two.
The Monarchs notched a four-run first inning and never looked back to secure the sweep.
Aubrey Rich led a 13-hit effort with a 3-for-3 nightcap that included a double and two runs scored.
Ryleigh Davis erupted for a home run—her second at the collegiate level—and a double as part of a 4-RBI performance that also featured a pair of runs scored.
Zoe Hunt made a statement in her return to the Macomb Softball Field with a 3-run home run—her first of the season—to cap off an impressive day that included solid defense in left field.
