WARREN, Mich. – Chalk it up to one of those days. Errors ruled the day as Macomb Softball dropped both games on Tuesday (March 24) at Oakland Community College. The losses shifted the Monarchs' record to 8-8 overall and 4-2 in MCCAA Eastern Conference play.
GAME ONE: OCC 10, Macomb 2 (F/6)
An error-riddled first inning by the Monarchs helped the Owls take a 3-0 lead early and the hosts never trailed in a 10-2 win in six innings. The Monarchs' bats couldn't get going until a two-run fifth as the Blue & White got to within one run, 3-2, thanks to a pair of RBI doubles by
Aubrey Rich and
Alexa Garofalo.
The Owls responded by plating seven unanswered runs across the fifth and sixth innings to secure the win.
Ryleigh Davis led the Monarchs with a 2-for-3 opener that included a double while
Alexa Yaklin doubled as part of a 1-for-2 effort with a run scored and

In a back-and-forth game through five innings, the Monarchs went in front, 7-4, with a five-run fifth. The lead was short-lived as the Owls once again posted seven unanswered runs to win, 11-7.
