NORTHVILLE, Mich. – You ever have Déjà vu, Monarch fans? After completing their previous suspended game, Macomb Softball dropped a nine inning heartbreaker to Schoolcraft College on Tuesday (April 28) before seeing game two suspended, again, due to darkness.
Macomb and Schoolcraft will need to finish game two this week, a game the Monarchs lead 9-0 in the top of the fourth with a runner on and no outs.
The Monarchs (16-19, 12-13 MCCAA East) dropped game one by a narrow 19-18 margin in nine innings.
Jacqueline Asmar paced the Monarch bats in the high octane opener by going 5-for-5 with a triple and five RBIs.
Alexa Garofalo went 5-for-7 and drove in a run while adding a double and a triple, while
Addison Wodowski checked in with a 3-for-5 performance.
Samantha Consiglio,
Aubrey Rich and
Alexa Yaklin all had a double and ended the game with two hits each. Yaklin added a triple and tied Consiglio with two RBIs.
Kailey Viviano hit her fifth home run of the campaign in extras.
