AUBURN HILLS, Mich. – The battle of 7-2 teams in the MCCAA Eastern Conference went in favor of the host Raiders of Oakland Community College by a 3-0 (15-25, 21-25, 18-25) final score on Tuesday (Oct. 19) in Auburn Hills. The Monarchs, now 13-10 overall and 7-3 in conference action, are now 0-4 in their last four true road matches dating back to an Oct. 3 tilt against Grand Rapids Community College.
Despite the setback, the Monarchs are still enjoying a highly-successful season, one that has them in sole possession of third place in the Eastern Conference (one match back of OCC and two back of first place Mott Community College).
The Monarchs had a new digs leader for the first time all season as Juliana Bollini (Washington, Mich./Romeo) recorded 17, while Khloee Stoll (Macomb, Mich./Anchor Bay) followed with 16 of her own. Ja'Nae Davis (Grand Rapids, Mich./Godwin Heights) paced the attack with nine kills, three ahead of Natalie Husson (Marysville, Mich./Marysville) who tacked on six kills to her impressive freshman campaign.
The Monarchs host Henry Ford College Thursday (Oct. 21) at 7:00 p.m. Thursday's match will be played in the Activities Center (Auxiliary Gym) inside the Sports & Expo Center and will feature a live stream that is slated to begin at approximately 6:40 p.m. on www.MacombMonarchs.com/Watch.
