PORT HURON, Mich. – Undefeated no more. Macomb Volleyball dropped its first MCCAA Eastern Conference match of the season on Tuesday (Oct. 5), losing to the Skippers of St. Clair County Community College 3-0 (23-25, 8-25, 19-25) on the road in Port Huron. The loss shifts the Monarchs record to 9-8 overall and 3-1 in MCCAA Eastern Conference play.
The Monarchs weren't the only undefeated conference team to go down on Tuesday with Oakland Community College losing their first league match of 2021 to Mott Community College. After Tuesday's matches, three teams (Macomb, Mott and Oakland CC) all have one loss in conference play, while Alpena Community College and St. Clair County Community College follow closely with two losses each.
On Tuesday, the Monarchs were paced by reigning and two-time MCCAA Eastern Conference Player of the Week, Natalie Husson (Marysville, Mich./Marysville), with eight kills. Erika Knieper (Noblesville, Ind./Noblesville) checked in right behind Husson with seven kills, while Khloee Stoll (Macomb, Mich./Anchor Bay) and Juliana Bollini (Washington, Mich./Romeo) recorded 25 and 18 digs, respectively.
