WARREN, Mich. – Macomb Women's Basketball fell to 1-3 on the season with a 66-50 setback to the visiting Bulldogs of Adrian College JV on Friday (Nov. 19) in Warren. Turnovers were the culprit Friday evening as the Monarchs committed 39 miscues but did manage to force the Bulldogs into 36 turnovers in the 16-point defeat.
The Monarchs trailed by two possessions after one quarter (22-16), but a big second quarter by the Bulldogs opened the game up for good Friday evening. In the second quarter, the Monarchs were outscored 27-10 to lift the Bulldogs to a 49-26 halftime advantage. Like they have in every setback this season, the Monarchs fought hard until the end, outscoring the Bulldogs 24-17 in the latter half.
DeBraya Edwards (Detroit, Mich./Oakland CC) led all scorers with 23 points on 10-of-20 shooting from the floor. Edwards added seven rebounds, five steals, and three assists in 35 minutes of work, while Amy Jackson (Flat Rock, Mich./Flat Rock) followed with 10 points, four rebounds, and three steals in 36 minutes.
