WARREN, Mich. – Down by as many as 12 in the fourth quarter, Macomb Women's Basketball refused to quit and battled back to earn a 70-66 home win over Bay College Friday (Dec. 3) inside the Sports & Expo Center. The win – the Monarchs fourth in a row – boosts the team's record to 5-3 on the season. The visiting Norse of Bay College fell to 5-4 after losing the lead late to a determined Monarchs squad.

In what was a back-and-forth game throughout, the Monarchs trailed by four, 15-11, after one quarter of play as shots wouldn't fall early. In the second quarter, the Monarchs outscored the Norse by a 25-18 margin to earn a narrow 36-33 halftime lead behind balanced play. In the second half, the Norse sank timely shots to eventually jump out to a 12-point lead with just under nine minutes to play in the fourth and final quarter.

Trailing 58-46, the Monarchs refused to back down and rallied to outscore the Norse 24-8 over the game's final 8:54 to earn the 70-66 comeback victory. Defense once again keyed the victory as the Monarchs forced the Norse into six turnovers while holding them to only three field goals during the impressive 24-8 run to close the game.
