LIVONIA, Mich. – So close. Macomb Volleyball battled to the end, but ultimately dropped three matches at Sunday's (Sept. 12) Madonna JV Quad against quality NAIA competition. Playing a best two-out-of-three format, the Monarchs won the opening set in two of the three matches – and took all three to a third and deciding set – before narrowly falling in each by the following scores:
Madonna JV 2, Macomb 1 (25-20, 23-25, 11-15)
Siena Heights JV 2, Macomb 1 (25-17, 22-25, 11-15)
Rochester JV 2, Macomb 1 (22-25, 25-20, 10-15)
The Monarchs, now 3-4 on the season after the trio of setbacks, now turn their attention to Tuesday's (Sept. 14) home opener when they welcome Mott Community College to the Expo Center for a 7:00 p.m. first serve. Tuesday's home match against Mott will also mark the MCCAA Eastern Conference opener for both teams.
Macomb Athletics will provide live video and live stats coverage beginning at 6:45 p.m. on www.MacombMonarchs.com/Watch.
