LIVONIA, Mich. – Macomb Volleyball continued their winning ways on Tuesday (Sept. 21) with a 3-0 sweep over MCCAA Eastern Conference foe, Schoolcraft College, earning their third consecutive victory to improve to 6-4 overall. In addition to the three-match winning streak, the road sweep lifted Macomb Volleyball to a 2-0 start in conference play for the first time since the 2014 season.
The 2014 team started league play 4-0 on their way to a 6-4 mark in the MCCAA East (11-9 overall).
As for Tuesday's sweep, the Monarchs won by set scores of 25-15, 25-17 and 27-25 behind another balanced statistical night. Kara Lewicki (Macomb, Mich./Lutheran North) led the offensive attack with nine kills, and added six digs and a pair of aces to record another solid outing for third-year head coach Lauren "Doogie" Duquette and the Monarchs. Ja'Nae Davis (Grand Rapids, Mich./Godwin Heights) was efficient once again with six kills on 12 attempts, while Erika Knieper (Noblesville, Ind./Noblesville) checked in with six kills of her own. Davis and Knieper also combined for four solo blocks and two block assists as part of a well-rounded evening at the net.
Emily Langlois (Macomb, Mich./L'Anse Creuse North) tossed up 24 assists – 21 in the direction of Davis, Knieper and Lewicki – and added 11 digs for her second double-double of the 2021 campaign.
Current MCCAA Eastern Conference Player of the Week, Khloee Stoll (Macomb, Mich./Anchor Bay), led the defensive effort with 26 digs, adding two aces, while Juliana Bollini (Washington, Mich./Romeo) tallied 11 digs to go along with her team-high four aces in the conference sweep.
