LIVONIA, Mich. – Macomb Volleyball returned to action Monday (Oct. 17) for a MCCAA Eastern Conference match at Schoolcraft College in search of their first league victory of the 2022 campaign. Down 2-0, the Monarchs fought back to take the lead in the third set but couldn't hold on in their effort to extend Monday's match as the host Ocelots won in three sets (16-26, 7-25, 22-25). With the loss, the Monarchs ended the night at 4-12 overall and 0-9 in league play.
Riley Fisette (Chesterfield, Mich./L'Anse Creuse North) led the Monarchs attack with five kills and the tandem of
Mallory Cardinale (Clinton Twp., Mich./Chippewa Valley) and
Olivia Kulka (Clinton Twp., Mich./Chippewa Valley) followed with three kills each in the conference setback.
Haile Polisano (New Baltimore, Mich./Anchor Bay) extended her team-lead in the aces department with two more Monday evening, while
Natalie Husson (Marysville, Mich./Marysville) and
Kaylee Lathrop (Macomb, Mich./Lutheran North) checked in with one ace each.
Lathrop paced the Monarchs' trio of setters with seven assists.
Jacalyn Jarvie (Clinton Twp., Mich./Chippewa Valley) added six assists in the three-set contest.
Defensively,
Jordan Turner (Highland Park, Mich./Wilmington Univ.) accumulated four block assists to push her block total over 60 on the season.
Chante Hudgins (Warren, Mich./Lincoln), second on the team in blocks behind Turner, checked in with three block assists.
Khloee Stoll (Macomb, Mich./Anchor Bay) posted a team-best 20 digs, while Polisano and Lathrop followed with nine and eight digs, respectively.
Skylar Hunt (Chesterfield, Mich./L'Anse Creuse North) and
Becca Weiss (Dryden, Mich./Dryden) added three digs each for the Monarchs Monday evening.
