WARREN, Mich. – A stretch of three consecutive matches against the three teams tied atop the MCCAA Eastern Conference concluded Wednesday (Oct. 5) against the Raiders of Oakland Community College. The Monarchs played with great energy and kept things tight throughout, but the Raiders were able to go on critical runs to win Wednesday's match in three sets (15-25, 19-25, 16-25).
Chante Hudgins (Warren, Mich./Lincoln) had a solid match once again for the Monarchs, posting five kills on 11 attempts with only one error for a .364 hitting percentage. Hudgins also added three block assists as part of a well-rounded night at the net.
Haile Polisano (New Baltimore, Mich./Anchor Bay) slammed down a team-best eight kills and added an equal eight digs, while
Jordan Turner (Highland Park, Mich./Wilmington Univ.) recorded a team-high five block assists.
Khloee Stoll (Macomb, Mich./Anchor Bay) was the anchor in back once again with 20 digs and was followed by
Becca Weiss (Dryden, Mich./Dryden) with nine digs.
Jacalyn Jarvie (Clinton Twp., Mich./Chippewa Valley) led the team with 10 assists and
Kaylee Lathrop (Macomb, Mich./Lutheran North) added seven digs and six assists in Wednesday's home match.
Up Next: The Monarchs have the rest of the week off from competition and will return to action Tuesday (Oct. 11) for a road non-conference tilt at Muskegon Community College. First serve is slated for 6:30 p.m. in Muskegon.
