WARREN, Mich. – The reigning MCCAA Eastern Conference Player of the Week,
Tamia Tounsel, led an impressive team effort as Macomb Women's Basketball improved to 3-0 on the season with a 75-56 home win over the Madonna Crusaders JV Thursday (Nov. 16) in Warren. Tounsel (Macomb, Mich./Dakota) posted another double-double with a career-high 23 points to go along with 14 rebounds to help propel the Monarchs to the 19-point victory.
The Monarchs closed the first quarter on a 9-3 run to turn a 10-10 tie into a 19-13 advantage through 10 minutes of action. The 9-3 burst gave the Monarchs a lead they would never relinquish as the Blue & White led by 10 at the half and 18 after three quarters of play in the 75-56 triumph.

Enddiea Reese (Macomb, Mich./Dakota) recorded a career night of her own after pouring in 16 points and adding nine rebounds—both new career bests for the freshman.
Marissa Thomas (Toledo, Ohio/Perrysburg) equaled Reese in the scoring column with 16 points and added a career-high eight assists to go along with eight rebounds in the win.
Sydney Garon (Shelby Twp., Mich./Henry Ford II) rounded out Thursday's stat leaders with seven points and five rebounds.
KEY STATS
The Monarchs earned the win by attacking the basket early and often as the team shot 41.8% compared to Madonna's 29.3% effort and won the points in the paint battle, 34-26.

The Monarchs will take their unbeaten record on the road Tuesday (Nov. 21) to face a tough test in NJCAA DIII No. 3 Owens Community College. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 p.m. in Perrysburg, Ohio.
