FLINT, Mich. – Two days after sweeping the Bears in Warren, Macomb Baseball couldn't get the offense rolling on the road as Mott Community College took two Sunday (April 22) by scores of 4-0 and 9-1. The pair of setbacks results in a dropped series to the Bears, three games to two.
Jack Blomme (Oxford, Mich./Oxford) led the Monarchs in game one with a hit and a stolen base, while
Jake Wohlfert (Hartland, Mich./Hartland) and
Gary Glaser III (Macomb, Mich./Lutheran North) pitched well and kept the Monarchs within striking distance throughout. Wohlfert held the Bears to three earned on four hits across four innings and Glaser only allowed one hit over two innings of relief work.
In game two,
Andrew Sleiman (Leamington, Ontario/Cardinal Carter) got the start in center field and made the most of his time on the diamond with a 2-for-2 performance at the plate that included a single and a double.
Logan Ramsey (Warren, Mich./Warren Mott) drove in the lone run of the day and
Joey Tedesco (Grosse Pointe Woods, Mich./Grosse Pointe North/Hillsdale) tossed a solid game while striking out six Bears.
Jeremy Pudlik (Waterford, Mich./Waterford Mott) continued his strong play with a busy but clean day defensively at shortstop.
The Monarchs have Sunday off from game action before returning to their home diamond Monday (April 24) for a non-conference doubleheader against NJCAA Region XII opponent, Terra State Community College (OH). First pitch for game one is slated for 1 p.m. with live stream coverage available on
