WARREN, Mich. – Adeline Tresnak and
Mallory Cardinale combined for 21 kills to lead Macomb Volleyball to a 3-0 sweep over Schoolcraft College Monday (Sept. 18) at the Sports & Expo Center. The pair led an all-around team effort as the Monarchs won by set scores of 25-14, 25-14 and 25-19 to move to 5-4 overall and 1-2 in the MCCAA Eastern Conference. The visiting Ocelots fell to 1-10 overall and 1-2 in conference play with the three-set setback.
Tresnak (Dryden, Mich./Dryden) slammed down 11 kills with no errors on 16 attempts for a .688 hitting percentage and Cardinale (Clinton Twp., Mich./Chippewa Valley) recorded 10 kills with only two errors as the pair combined for 21 of the team's 36 kills in a dominant effort over their conference counterpart.
Chante Hudgins (Warren, Mich./Lincoln) had seven kills on a .357 hitting percentage and added five aces, while
Paige Elliott (Livonia, Mich./Detroit Country Day) racked up 29 assists on the evening.
Nikole Nikolova (Sterling Heights, Mich./Henry Ford II) paced the defense with 20 digs and was followed by Elliott with 12.
Grace Amoe (Harrison Twp., Mich./L'Anse Creuse), Hudgins and Tresnak all tallied two block assists and
Hadley Schaefer (Harrison Twp., Mich./Parkway Christian) checked in with a solo block and a block assist to round out the leaders at the net defensively.
As a team, the Monarchs tallied 36 kills and only committed nine errors on 72 attempts for a .375 hitting percentage in the three-set contest. The Monarchs were dialed in from the opening serve on their way to recording 11 kills (one error) on 17 attempts in set one and 12 kills (one error) on 26 attempts in the second set to take a commanding 2-0 lead in the match. The team finished off the match with a third set effort of 13 kills (seven errors) on 29 attempts.
While Hudgins led the way with five aces, the Monarchs notched 10 as a team with Elliott and Cardinale serving up two each and Nikolova checking in with one.

Mallory Cardinale) were incredible tonight, Addie with 11 kills and no errors on only 16 attempts was amazing and Mal to follow that with 10 kills and only two errors was impressive. We need to build off of this and get back to work tomorrow to prepare for Henry Ford."
