MONARCH REWIND
The Monarchs took care of business last week and picked up a pair of conference wins in sweeping fashion with a 3-0 victory over Schoolcraft on Monday and a 3-0 win over Henry Ford on Wednesday. The Monarchs swept the week behind efficient play that resulted in neither opponent reaching 20 points in a single set. The wins lifted the Monarchs to 6-4 overall and 2-2 in the MCCAA East.
TRESNAK'S BIG WEEK
Speaking of efficient... how about the play last week out of freshman outside hitter
Adeline Tresnak?! The Dryden High School product was on fire from the opening serve last week and went on to amass a .525 hitting percentage through two sweeps after slamming down 11 kills with no errors in the 3-0 win over Schoolcraft and 11 kills with only one error in the 3-0 victory over Henry Ford.
AN EXTENDED LOOK AHEAD
This week we take an extended look ahead due to a packed slate of matches over the weekend and into next week. The Monarchs visit Jackson for a MCCAA East battle Wednesday before taking a break from league action to play in GRCC's Raider Challenge over the weekend. MCCAA East play resumes with two matches the week of Oct. 2.

A LOOK AT: JACKSON
After beginning the season 4-0, the Jets of Jackson College have lost three in a row, including a narrow five-set loss at Oakland Community College (OCC) on Wednesday. Despite the three-match skid, the Jets are 1-2 in conference play, a half match behind the Monarchs entering the week. The Jets are led offensively by Jaden Bates (52 kills) and defensively by Alivia Smith (86 digs).
RAIDER CHALLENGE PREVIEW
Following the Jackson match, the Monarchs will use a break in MCCAA East action to take part in the Grand Rapids Community College (GRCC) Raider Challenge on Saturday and Sunday (Sept. 30-Oct. 1). The Monarchs will face four difficult challenges with matches against Muskegon and No. 11 GRCC on Saturday before taking on Lake Michigan and Kellogg on Sunday.
WHEN LEAGUE PLAY RESUMES
After four tough matches at the Raider Challenge, the Monarchs will have to travel back to Warren and be ready for an immediate MCCAA East matchup with the OCC Raiders at home on Monday (Oct. 2) evening. From there, the Monarchs will travel to Port Huron Oct. 4 to begin the second round of conference play.
NIKOLOVA'S STEADY PLAY
While Tresnak stole the show last week with near flawless play at the net, freshman libero
Nikole Nikolova continued to anchor the defense with 37 digs (6.17 digs per set) and 33 receptions while also adding six aces in a pair of 3-0 victories.
