WARREN, Mich. – Not their night. The third-ranked Macomb Men's Basketball team dropped their first conference game of the season Wednesday (Jan. 24) as the 17
th-ranked Skippers of St. Clair County Community College picked up a 91-79 victory in Warren. The loss shifts the Monarchs to 14-3 overall and 3-1 in the MCCAA East. The Skippers improved to 15-3 overall and 4-0 in league play.
Wednesday's game marked the third straight ranked opponent for the Monarchs (Macomb won the previous two ranked matchups entering the SC4 contest).

Second half action saw the Skippers extend their lead to double digits before the Monarchs would slice the deficit to two possessions midway through the latter stanza. The Skippers made another run from there to earn the 12-point road win.
The Skippers made key hustle plays throughout the game to fend off the Monarchs comeback bid and ended the contest with advantages in points off turnovers (19-12) and second chance points (15-11).
Tymias Williams (Macomb, Mich./Dakota) led the Monarchs with 20 points and six rebounds and
Nate Brown (Flint, Mich./Davison) followed with 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting.
Juwan Maxey (Detroit, Mich./Renaissance) checked in with nine points and six rebounds and
Parker Day (Saginaw, Mich./Heritage/GVSU) had eight points, four rebounds and four assists.
The Monarchs return to their home hardwood Saturday as Oakland Community College (OCC) visits Warren for a 3 p.m. tip-off.
