LIVONIA – Macomb Volleyball attempted to battle back from an 0-2 deficit on Monday (Oct. 14) at Schoolcraft but ultimately fell short as the host Ocelots evened the season series with a five-set victory by set scores of 17-25, 22-25, 25-21, 25-18, 7-15.

The loss drops the Monarchs to 5-3 in the MCCAA Eastern Conference and 8-15 overall. The Ocelots improved to 3-5 in league play and 6-9 overall.
 
Jordan Pflaum (Shelby Twp., Mich./Lutheran High North) was the lone Monarch in double-digit kills with 13 and was followed in the category by Kara Beeker (Warren, Mich./Warren Woods Tower) with nine and Grace Amoe (Harrison Twp., Mich./L'Anse Creuse) with eight. Paige Elliott (Livonia, Mich./Detroit Country Day) recorded 29 assists, 18 digs and a pair of aces, while Kaley Eller (Utica, Mich./Utica) posted 10 digs and six kills and Ashlyn Cunha (Richmond, Mich./Anchor Bay) had six digs and four aces.
 
The Monarchs host the Hawks of Henry Ford College at 7 p.m. Wednesday (Oct. 16).
