MUSKEGON – A tough shooting night proved to be too much to overcome for Macomb Women's Basketball on Tuesday (Nov. 19) as the Blue & White fell to the host Jayhawks of Muskegon Community College by a 71-45 final. The loss drops the Monarchs to 1-3 on the season. The Jayhawks remained perfect on the young season at 5-0.
The Jayhawks started hot, leading 25-14 after one quarter of play behind a 50% shooting effort. Despite connecting on seven field goals over the first 20 minutes of play, the Monarchs only trailed by 12 at the break, 35-23.
The tough shooting night continued in the second half as the Jayhawks pulled away for the 26-point win.
Asiyah Jihad (Farmington, Mich./North Farmington) led the Monarchs with 16 points and 12 rebounds.
