WARREN – Macomb Women's Basketball took on its second ranked opponent in as many games on Wednesday (Dec. 11) when they hosted the No. 19 Lansing Community College Stars. In a game where points were hard to come by, the Monarchs battled the 19
th ranked Stars tough throughout before ultimately dropping the contest by a narrow 53-44 margin. The 53 points scored by Lansing marked a season low (previous: 66)
The loss drops the Monarchs' record to 3-5 on the season. The Stars improved to 9-2 with the road win in Warren.

The Monarchs and Stars were whistled for a combined 53 turnovers on a night where the teams combined for 33 made field goals.
How We Got There
The Monarchs trailed 9-4 after one quarter of play and by a 26-16 margin at the halftime break. After an even third quarter, the Monarchs rallied in the fourth to get to within two possessions late before the Stars sealed the game at the free throw line.

A'Liyah Forris (Detroit, Mich./Cass Tech) with nine points, four rebounds, four steals and three assists and
Asiyah Jihad (Farmington, Mich./North Farmington) with eight points and seven rebounds.
Janiya McWilliams (Detroit, Mich./Warren Fitzgerald) rounded out Wednesday's leaders with four points, seven rebounds, a game-high five steals and four assists.
