Welcome to another season of Macomb Baseball! The 2024 spring trip gets underway Saturday (March 2) in Lancaster, South Carolina, as the Monarchs begin a three-game set against NJCAA D1 power, USC-Lancaster. Saturday begins a spring trip that will feature
11 games across eight days in South Carolina and Georgia.

An impressive first full recruiting cycle for second year head coach,
Taylor Grzelakowski! Able to recruit for an entire cycle for the first time, Grzelakowski signed a host of top end high school talent and brought in
eight (8) key transfers, an experienced group that is led by Central Michigan University signee,
Brady Krzciok.
A CHALLENGING SOUTHERN SLATE
We already discussed the opening three-game set at USC-Lancaster, a NJCAA D1 program that is 15-5 at the time of this release and features the junior college home run leader. The challenging southern slate continues on with doubleheaders against a pair of tough opponents midweek before ending against an impressive East Georgia State team that boasts a 17-5 record.
ROSTER OVERHAUL: FRESHMEN
The 2024 edition of Macomb Baseball features a roster full of new faces after an offseason overhaul. The influx of new talent features a host of freshmen who are poised to make an immediate impact, including:

Ryan McKay (INF),
Dane Richards (OF),
Dominic Miller (P),
Derek Neufeld (P),
Ryan Sieler (P) and redshirt freshman
Alex Mendes (INF).

While the aforementioned
Brady Krzciok (1B) is one of many talented transfers, the experienced group also features impact players such as 2023 redshirt addition,
Dylan Pawenski (C/1B), as well as newcomers

HIGH EXPECTATIONS
There's no shying away from it, Grzelakowski and the Monarchs have high expectations this season and are laser-focused on turning the program around. While the spring trip isn't an indicator, the Monarchs' journey toward their goals begin this week down south. Good luck, Monarchs!
SPRING TRIP COVERAGE
Another year, another mixed bag of spring trip coverage. The hosts of the bookend series' (USC Lancaster and East Georgia State) will live stream their games, but no live streams are expected at Brewton-Parker or Lander. RINNA LEADS RETURNING CAST
While there was a massive roster overhaul, the Monarchs do return a fair of amount of key returning talent, led by redshirt sophomore outfielder
Reese Rinna. Last season, Rinna led the Monarchs in batting average (.369), OPS (1.099), SLG% (.667) and doubles (11). While we can't name everyone, Rinna is joined by fellow returner,
Dallas Gordon, who hit .304 in 2023.
