Women’s Basketball Notches Eighth Win of Season in 77-60 Road Triumph

The Monarchs cruised to a 77-60 road win over Montcalm Community College to improve to 8-4 on the season.

SIDNEY, Mich. – Hannah Tamou tallied a career-high 16 points and Asiyah Jihad hauled in a career-best 20 rebounds and added 13 points to help lead Macomb Women's Basketball to a 77-60 win at Montcalm Community College on Monday (Dec. 22) in Sidney, Mich.
 
The road victory lifted the Monarchs to 8-4 on the season ahead of Tuesday's 2025 finale against Community Christian College. The road game against Community Christian will be played at Solomon's Temple Church in Detroit and will tip-off at 5:30 p.m.
 
In Monday's win at Montcalm, the Monarchs led 27-15 after one quarter of play and held a 40-30 advantage at the half on their way to the 17-point triumph.
 
The road victory was a product of a 45-32 advantage on the glass, including a 20-8 edge in offensive rebounds.
 
Tamou shot 7-of-10 overall and 2-of-3 from 3-point range to lead three Monarchs in double figures scoring with her new career-high of 16 points.  MyKenzi Harris followed with 14 points on a 4-of-8 clip from downtown and added five rebounds, while Jihad was dominant on the glass with a new career-high 20 rebounds to go along with 13 points and five steals.
 
The double-double was Jihad's second in as many games.
 
Vanessa Galovich continued to work back into the lineup with nine points and three rebounds, while Janiya McWilliams posted a balanced eight points, six assists and six rebounds. A'Liyah Forris rounded out Monday's leaders with eight points, a team-high six steals and three assists.
 
All nine active Monarchs who saw the floor scored as Ava Kilgore, Ruby Sandison and Maggie Stadler chipped in with three points each.
