DETROIT, Mich. – A red-hot second half shooting effort for St. Clair County Community College (SC4) proved to be the difference on Wednesday (Jan. 21) as the Skippers defeated Macomb Women's Basketball, 86-67, at the Matthaei Center.

The loss sent the Monarchs to an even 2-2 in the MCCAA East and dropped their overall record to 13-6. The Skippers improved to 13-6 overall and remained unbeaten in conference play at 4-0.

A back-and-forth first half ended with the teams being separated by two points at the half as the Skippers held a narrow 32-30 edge at the break. The Skippers led 16-14 after one quarter before the teams deadlocked at 16-16 in the second period to result in the tight halftime score.

In the second half, the Skippers out-paced the Monarchs 27-20 in the third quarter and pulled away late behind a 27-17 fourth quarter to post the 19-point decision.

Janiya McWilliams led Macomb with 16 points. The sophomore guard added six rebounds and two assists in 28 minutes of action.
