AUBURN HILLS, Mich. – Macomb Women's Basketball used a balanced effort offensively to earn a commanding 91-59 victory over Oakland Community College Wednesday (Feb. 18) in Auburn Hills. 

The win moved the Monarchs to 19-8 overall and 8-4 in MCCAA Eastern Conference play while the host Owls fell to 5-20 overall and 2-10 in league action. 

The Monarchs led from the jump, racing out to a 23-13 first quarter lead before taking a decisive 49-24 advantage into the halftime break. 

Second half action saw the Monarchs continue to push the pace en route to a 32-point victory.

Hannah Tamou netted 17 points, pulled down a career-high 11 rebounds and dished out four assists to lead the way. A'Liyah Forris had 17 points of her own thanks to an 8-for-8 mark at the free throw line. 

MyKenzi Harris posted 14 points, four assists and four steals, while Vanessa Galovich recorded 13 points. Janiya McWilliams had nine points to go along with a career-best 13 rebounds. Ava Kilgore added eight points and Curtisey Williams seven points. 

As a team, the Monarchs shot 43.4% from the field and 44.4% from 3-point land. The Blue & White also controlled the glass, outrebounding the Owls, 49-43.

The Monarchs return to the Matthaei Center in Detroit Saturday (Feb. 21) for a Sophomore Day showdown with Wayne County Community College District. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. on the campus of Wayne State University.
