Forris Posts Career-High 27 to Lead Women's Basketball to 50-Point Victory Over Henry Ford

A'Liyah Forris nets a career-high 27 points in the 50-point victory.

DETROIT, Mich. – Macomb Women's Basketball bounced back with an emphatic 98-48 victory over Henry Ford College on Saturday (Feb. 7) from the Matthaei Center in Detroit. 

With the 50-point win, the Monarchs moved to 17-7 overall and 6-3 in MCCAA Eastern Conference action while the Hawks dropped to 2-17 and 1-8 in league play. 

Four starters reached double figures for the Monarchs, led by a career-high 27 points from A'Liyah Forris. The Cass Tech graduate added three assists and three steals in 31 minutes of action. 

MyKenzi Harris tallied 19 points and seven boards while Hannah Tamou netted 13 points and pulled down seven rebounds. Janiya McWilliams had a solid all-around game with 10 points, a team-high eight assists and seven rebounds. 

Ruby Sandison just missed a double-double with eight points and eight rebounds, Ava Kilgore posted eight points and four boards and Jamiya Rogers chipped in seven points. Maggie Stadler registered six points, four rebounds and five assists. 

The Monarchs were dominant from the opening tip, leading 29-11 after one quarter and 45-27 at halftime. The strong play continued in the second half as the Monarchs outscored the Hawks, 53-21, en route to the 50-point margin of victory. 

The Monarchs dished out 24 assists on 41-of-72 shooting and and won the rebounding battle, 43-21.

Macomb begins a three-game road trip Wednesday (Feb. 11) at Mott Community College. Tip-off from the Ballenger Fieldhouse is set for 5:30 p.m.
