WARREN, Mich. – Macomb Baseball remained undefeated in MCCAA Eastern Conference play with a 10-4 win over Jackson College on Thursday (March 26) in Warren.
With the win, the Monarchs moved to 12-10 overall and 4-0 in the early stages of league play. The Jets dropped to 9-9 overall and 3-1 in conference action after suffering their first MCCAA East defeat of the campaign.
The Monarchs have one nine-inning MCCAA East contest remaining before the league slate shifts to series play where each team will meet four times in seven-inning affairs. The final nine-inning tilt is set for Saturday (March 28) at The Corner Ballpark against Schoolcraft College at 1 p.m.
After a rain delay halted play in the bottom of the third,
Brendan Przybycki got the ball and went on to toss six scoreless innings to earn his second win of the season. Przybycki fanned six and didn't allow a run or a walk while retiring 15 consecutive batters in his best outing in a Macomb uniform.
Marwynn Matthews Jr was nearly unstoppable at the plate, going 4-for-5 with two RBIs, two stolen bases and three runs scored to pace the offensive attack as the Monarchs went ahead 6-1 in the second and never looked back.
Aidan Miller went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI, Buster Debol doubled and drove in a pair and Zackary Grinde doubled as part of a 1-for-3 day with a run scored.
